ABA Services
The Learning Tree, Inc. is committed to providing the most effective services available to the children it serves and has adopted Applied Behavior Analysis as its teaching approach for educational services including the management of challenging behavior. Because of this commitment, all of the residential campuses and preschools maintain relationships with departments from local universities which train students in Applied Behavior Analysis.
The Tallassee campus and Auburn's preschool serve as practicum sites for Auburn University's Master's degree program in Applied Behavior Analysis. Additionally, Auburn's preschool utilizes student workers on a considerable basis. Undergraduate students from Tuskegee University, Alabama State University and, Auburn University Montgomery also serve as interns for course credit at the Tallassee campus. The preschool also serves as an intern site for graduate students in Auburn University's department of education.
The Mobile preschool serves as a practicum site for the University of South Alabama's undergraduate psychology program for students seeking certification as a BCaBA. Additionally, interns from other departments, such as child and family services are utilized at the residential campus.
The Jacksonville campuses, preschool and residential, utilize interns from several departments at Jacksonville State University including graduate and undergraduate interns from the departments of psychology and education.
These relationships with universities allow practical experience for students and additional professional resources for The Learning Tree, Inc. Each site employs multiple Board Certified Behavior Analysts for a total of more than 20 BCBAs employed throughout the organization.
Every year three graduates from Auburn University's ABA specialty program, one for each residential campus, are selected for employment that is limited for one year. The Learning Tree, Inc. sponsors these students financially during the completion of their degree in exchange for a one year commitment to employment at a reduced rate of compensation. This allows the graduate to gain experience in an environment with individuals from other disciplines as well as other Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
