Practicum/Internship Opportunities

Students from Jacksonville State University have the opportunity to enroll in both undergraduate and graduate practicum experiences. Undergraduates work hands-on, as teachers, for the children with developmental delays. They learn to teach using Discrete Trial Training and Incidental Teaching, as well as train and encourage the typically developing children to be peer models. Graduate students have the opportunity to receive supervision hours towards certification in Applied Behavior Analysis. They act as case managers for the children with developmental delays. This includes conducting assessments, developing teaching programs, training undergraduates and teachers, training parents to implement programs at home, superviseing in-home sessions, monitoring and graph acquisition data, and conducting literature reviews.
