The Learning Tree's
Tallassee Campus
The School and Administrative offices are located at 101 S. Dubois St., in what was previously the First Baptist Church.
This site includes a playground, gymnasium, administrative offices, and classrooms. We serve 30 students who reside in 10 houses located throughout the Tallassee community.
Campus Enhancements
- Fundraising Advisory Committee
- The Tallassee Campus wants your ideas and suggestions to help us raise funds to support our students. We are developing a
Fundraising Advisory Committee. If you are interested in serving on this committee, have any ideas, or would like to help,
please contact Operations Administrator Ramona Heil-Norris.
- Gymnasium Construction
- When the Tallassee Campus opened August 17, 2005. Previously a church, sev-eral renovations had to be made before opening
our doors to students. Our gymnasium is located where the sanctuary was previously. The construction of our gym has been a long
process, from installing and leveling a floor to install-ing new walls and windows. It is still a work in progress. $50,000 is
needed to complete this project.
- Completion of Our Playground
- As a complement to our gymnasium, our outdoor adaptive playground will offer our children an area to develop their physical
skills and coordination. Thus, increasing their self confidence and ability to interact with others. Contributions to this project
will be accompanied by a substantial grant from The Home Depot. $10,000 is needed to complete this project.
- Hospital Admission Fund
- When our children are admitted to the hospital, our trained staff can not be compensated for staying with them. However, few
hospitals have staff trained to manage the behavioral issues our children face. This can be frightening to our children and
frustrating for us and the admitting hospital. Contributions to this fund will be used to pay trained staff to stay with a
hospitalized child. We are developing arrangements with the charitable foundations of several hospi-tals to match your
contributions upon admission. We would like to maintain $3,000 in this fund.
